David and Rhye’s wedding was one of the most intentional weddings I’ve ever attended. I don’t normally love booking weddings over a year in advance but in David and Rhye’s case it gave me a lot of prep time. I essentially spent the year keeping an eye out for ravens - if I was shooting another wedding in Moab and got to the trailhead early, I’d look for ravens. If I was going running at Jenny Lake in the summer, I’d look around the parking lot for ravens.

I always have either a wildlife lens or 70-200 stashed in my car, so these small observations throughout my everyday life culminated in a truly one-of-a-kind gallery that was very rewarding to put together. I realistically don’t do this much work for other weddings because it’s just not really necessary, but David and Rhye’s unique theme and storyline mandated a different approach.
