Winter weddings in Grand Teton can be very simple or very complicated, depending on your perspective. Very few of the venues are accessible in the winter, so there are really only a handful of options for winter elopements. But you’ll have to contend with road closures and figuring out exactly which sites are still accessible, so winter elopements are a situation where local photographers really shine.

We had to try to navigate a plan b in case of a government shut down, which is worse case scenario in winter as all of the nice viewpoints for a wedding outside of the park are snowed in on forest service roads. Fortunately, it all worked out and it turned out to be the one nice day between storms. Still a little cloudy, but as long as you can see the Tetons I’ll take it.
