“Danielle was the first vendor we booked for our June 2025 wedding in the Tetons and she was SO helpful in making our day a reality. She helped us nail down tons of important details from what our actual date would be, locations, and timelines. The Tetons are our favorite place and we knew right from our first conversation with Danielle that she knows exactly how to capture them. All of that and of course our gallery is legitimately stunning and we are so thrilled with the photos! We genuinely enjoyed our time with Danielle and would recommend her to anyone!!”

Jackson hole wedding photographer testimonial

Documentary weddings For laidback romantics

Jackson Hole and Moab hold a particular kind of magic. From ceremonies framed by graceful canyons to intimate moments as the alpenglow touches the tallest Teton peaks, these landscape creates space for love to unfold authentically. Beautiful in their own right, they compliment your story and adventures by connecting you to the wilderness, to each other, and to moments beyond the ordinary.

My style falls between the traditional boundaries - film inspired, but not overly faded and grainy. Photojournalistic, but with some artistic and editorial suggestions to make the image more impactful. Confident and knowledgeable, but not so energetic that I dominate your day. I have a relaxed and observant approach and prefer to read the room and let your presence take the stage for documentary-style, candid moments that feel like you.

I live and breathe these spaces and living locally gives me an unparalleled insight and guidance into your dream day. You deserve to feel supported and at ease from the moment we connect.

weddings

  • Clients will receive my client guide, which is tailored to getting married in Moab and Grand Teton and provides a ton of hard-earned, local-only information on timeline, permitting, and location planning.

They will also receive a guide to different recommended activities in Moab and Jackson Hole (I write travel guides for a bunch of different hotels and publications so this is big!).

I don’t set a number of photographs because there are so many factors that go into it (travel between locations, waiting for other visitors and cars to pass, and so on). But clients can roughly expect to receive 40+ images per hour, often more.

Clients will receive beautifully-designed, easy-access, high resolution gallery. Clients will also have full print and social media rights to share with friends and so on.

    Galleries will include:

-Images of the smaller details you put so much thought into

-Finishing touches of the getting-ready process

-Group photos (bridal party, groomsmen, everyone together)

    -First look (optional)

    -Ceremony

    -Family photos

    -Couple photos

    -Reception

    -Golden hour photos

  • 6 hours - a to-the-point day with most of our time spent outside. $5,800.

8 hours - the standard package. This can include a first look and will include all of the extra fun things, like getting ready images, guest images, and detail shots. $6,200.

10 hours - the best of the best. Can include a sunrise session and first look. $6,500.

  • The line is a little hazy because pretty much every wedding in Moab or the Tetons involves beautiful outdoor images. An elopement will generally be more customized, have more physical activity, and under 15 guests.

  • If you’re traveling to Moab or Jackson beforehand for wedding planning, shoot me a message about my elopement sessions! They aren’t a set part of my packages because it’s tough to coordinate in destination locations, but I’d love to schedule a free get-to-know-each-other session for clients who book a wedding.

Why work with me?

The Tetons and Moab are full of photographers nowadays, and those who don’t live here are dying to take photos of these places for cheap. I get it - I’m so freaking lucky to live here. But when you hire me, you’re getting a different kind of experience.

You’re getting the insight of someone who lives inside Grand Teton National Park and knows this place intimately - from the cottonwoods to the wildflowers to the lighting. You’re also getting the experience of someone who worked as a hiking guide in Moab and knows how to create a memorable itinerary, guide people through the landscape, and connect with them over a shared love of place.

I realize that a lot of photographers claim to be expert planners and it’s hard to distinguish who is the real deal - my rule of thumb is that you need to live locally to truly be an expert. You can’t rely on wedding Facebook groups or shoot a few weddings a year in a place and truly say that you understand the light and the shadows, the vendors, the weather. I even write travel guides for US News and World Report, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Outbound Hotels, and more.

Not everyone will prioritize this kind of intangible knowledge but to those with a shared admiration for the flora, fauna, and geology of these places, it goes a long way towards creating an open, joyful atmosphere.

A few more key things:

4 cameras

This sounds like overkill, but I bring 4 cameras to each wedding - 3 digital and 1 film. I’ve never had a camera break at a wedding but I’ve had lens failures on other important shoots, and I’m too paranoid to ever let that happen again.

Timeless, Elegant, and Real

I want you to still love your photos in a decade and trendy editing will have an expiration date. I look for the honest moments of intentional connection and capture them in the most beautiful natural light and landscapes.

includes

  • I am not an editorial photographer. I strongly prefer to capture honest moments of joy and connection with a photojournalistic, documentary style.

There are some instances where poses are great, but I mostly prefer prompts that allow you to react naturally and look like yourselves.

  • I don’t do styled shoots - everything you see here is the real deal. Real couples having an incredible time on their wedding days.

  • So many travel photographers have been branding themselves as local experts when they have very little real experience here. I frequently see posts on destination wedding photographer Facebook groups asking for vendor recs by photographers in other cities who claim to be experts on Moab and Grand Teton.

I see photographers tagging “Moab” in their instagram posts with saguaros (saguaros only grow in southern AZ).

More photographers than I even know stage styled shoots with models that no real wedding could ever live up to.

All of this feels deceptive to me, and that’s not the kind of person I would trust with a day so important.

All of my work features real couple living and loving their real wedding days. I have put the time and legwork into living, working, and exploring Moab and Grand Teton. I’ve connected with other vendors by working events. These things don’t happen immediately and they are worth the investment.

  • I do have to travel to Moab now but I’m fortunate enough to still have plenty of friends to stay with when I visit, so I do not charge travel fees. Big plus of choosing a local (or former local) photographer :)

  • I started out taking landscape photos on my thru-hikes, so the mountains and desert are a huge part of the way I shoot. You two are the main attraction but the stunning natural features are a close runner up.

  • Clients will receive a guide to different recommended activities in the area. I’ve written a number of Moab and Jackson Hole travel guides for publications like US World and News Report and Field Mag, so I’m a pro at finding activities that everyone will enjoy.

The process

  • The first step is to reach out to me via my contact form, even if you don’t have any ideas beyond just a date and Jackson Hole or Moab yet. The more we chat, the more I’ll be able to suggest ideas for your dream day.

  • Once we’ve settled on a general location and date, I’ll send over my contract and invoice for your deposit. After that, I’ll send you my in-depth guide for planning and the day of the wedding. This include local vendor recommendations, what colors to wear and to avoid, and more.

  • I’m here to answer any questions you have along the way and make sure we get the permits in on time. I love being included in the timeline process so I can provide feedback on the best lighting and time for certain locations.

  • The wedding day will more or less follow the timeline we’ve laid out. But sometimes we have to have a plan b because of weather, so that’s where a local photographer who knows the area well will come in handy.

  • You’ll leave with memories (and probably some iPhone pics) and I’ll go home with all of those RAW files and turn them into something magical! I turnaround galleries in 6 weeks, on average.

I do not offer albums because they feel like an expensive, dated thing that not many people ask for anymore. You can buy prints through your gallery, though.
